Lisa Goodwin, Founder and Chief Well-Being Enthusiast

Lisa had a vision of a nature centered healing place in 2014 while experiencing the beauty and magnificence of Capon Springs Resort in West Virginia.  She envisioned a place of respite and relaxation for all those in need but especially those who did not regularly have access to the innate healing properties of nature.  She sought a way to bring those experiences to busy folks in Reston.  Out of that desire, Rise was born.

Lisa has a passion for learning and has been focused on her own growth and development since getting divorced in 2009.  She often remarks that its out of the greatest difficulty that the greatest growth can occur.   For the past few years, Lisa has been studying the energy system the body and various healing techniques as well as spending a lot of time in the woods with her dog.  She has seen the improvements in her own health and those around her when employing these techniques. So now that her children are all young adults and self sufficient, she is thrilled to be dedicating to helping others through Rise.   In ancient times, Lisa received a degree in Finance and Marketing from the University of Virginia. Those skills are now being put to good use!

In 1994 she received a Bachelors of Nursing from Georgetown University, DC. She worked in Public Health, specializing in women and family health.

In 2003 she started a home-practice of yoga. She was certified to teach yoga in 2009. In 2015 she completed a 300 hour Yoga Therapy training through Beloved Yoga in Reston, VA.

Catherine Akbarieh

An advocate of natural health & prevention for over 20 years, Dr. Catherine is a Licensed Dentist with with a background in Human Physiology. She is also a CranioSacral Therapist, a Certified Holistic Health & Nutrition Counselor, and a ZYTO & EVOX practitioner.

Dr. Catherine is the founder of Reflective Wellness, LLC, with a mission to bring you Balance, Healing and Happiness through Education & Supportive Therapeutic Modalities. Today, she practices mainly as a Holistic Health Consultant to individuals and companies, and enjoys providing seminars as much as one to one body-balancing sessions to clients. Dr. Catherine aims to empower her clients on their health journey by working with the body’s own energetic and physiological responses through CranioSacral Therapy (CST). It is a light touch therapy based on a strong understanding of the body’s anatomy, physiology and energetic “pulse”. She is passionate about getting back to the basics, using both the body’s own healing capabilities and natural resources, to facilitate release of unwanted toxins and improve one’s energetic presence & response to any situation. To facilitate this intention, she educates about the science and art of Culinary Nutrition and proper Hydration as an important foundational piece, to further facilitate the CST experience.

Her other favorite modality is ZYTO EVOX, a Perception Reframing technique that harmonizes patterns of thinking and the emotional zones that affect all aspects of wellness, performance, and life. Using the energy of the voice to identify and address “energetic stagnation” or “inertia”, amazing results can be achieved by releasing the energy trapped within us from previous or generational experiences and perceptions.

Dante Baker

Dante Baker is a native of the Washington DC area, growing up in Reston, VA. He has always been fascinated by human anatomy and its abilities to heal, move, and process. He first expressed these interests through gaining certification from the Aerobics and Fitness Association (AFAA) and the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) in 2007. He worked with wide a range of clients such as over-weight clients, young athletes and the elderly. He soon expanded to teaching large classes, including boot camp, athletic conditioning, kids physical education, kickboxing and body pump.

Complimenting this, he completed a 600 hour Massage Therapy Certification in 2010, while learning transcendental meditation and Tui Na—an ancient form of Chinese bodywork. Dante was fascinated by  Eastern philosophy and enrolled in a nine month Qigong and Tai Chi Ball certification with Master Nianzu Li (L.Ac) in 2013. He maintains a strong Qigong practice and teaches personal clients as well as larger classes at various health studios .

In his exploration of holistic health, he explored the impressive effectiveness of sound healing with singing bowls to heal body, mind, and emotions, and now does this professionally. In 2015 he completed a Reiki Master certification, and in 2016 he received his 200 hour Yoga Teacher certification.

Dante works as a personal trainer and sees private clients for massage and Reiki. He teaches meditation, yoga, qigong classes, and performs crystal and Tibetan Sound Concerts.
